Dr. Purvi V. Shah is a uniquely qualified pediatric dentist with experience in child nutrition and
pediatric dentistry. Her experience shapes her practice philosophy that oral health and
nutrition play a vital role in a child’s healthy growth and development and overall well being.

Caring for children is a personal commitment for Dr. Shah.  She takes the time to put the child
at ease and gain their trust. Her gifted ability to connect and make friends with children
empowers her mission to help them.

Dr. Shah's outstanding care for children has continually earned her recognition from her
peers.  She was chosen to be the Chief Resident during her Pediatric Dentistry residency at
The Children’s Hospital, Denver, a distinction very few pediatric dentists are awarded.

During her dental education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, she was
awarded the Spurgeon Dental Class Award, the American Dental Education Association’s
Preventive Dentistry Award and the Marvin J. Block Community Dentistry Award for
community service.

In addition to these awards, Dr. Shah's research studies have been published and cited in
the journal of Pediatric Dentistry*, a publication  internationally recognized as the leading
journal in the area of pediatric dentistry.  Dr. Purvi V. Shah is also a Diplomate of the
American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

The mission of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is to verify to the public and to
health professions that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed both an advanced
educational program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental
Accreditation and a voluntary examination process designed to validate the knowledge,
application, and performance requisite to the delivery of proficient care in pediatric dentistry.

The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is the only certifying Board recognized by the
American Dental Association for the specialty of pediatric dentistry.

Besides her training as a pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Shah also has a MS in Nutrition.
* Pediatric Dentistry is the official publication of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry,
the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the College of Diplomates of the American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  It is published bi-monthly and is internationally recognized as
the leading journal in the area of pediatric dentistry.
